Olivia Centre joins forces with the University of Gdańsk for academic sport

Under the signed agreement, the University of Gdańsk awarded Olivia Centre the title of “Patron of Academic Sport of the University of Gdańsk”. The agreement assumes cooperation between both parties in the field of sports, including support for league teams, academic sports and sports events of a local and national nature.

The ceremonial signing of the agreement between the University of Gdańsk and Olivia Centre was attended by Olivia’s President Maciej Grabski and Member of the Management Board Grzegorz Kidybiński. The University was represented by: H.E. Rector of the University of Gdańsk prof. Ph.D. Piotr Stepnowski, Director of CWFiS Tomasz Aftański and President of AZS UG Piotr Walczak.

“The agreement is in line with the strategy of the University of Gdańsk aimed at building strong, responsible partnerships with the socio-economic environment. We treat academic sport as an important element of the development of the university’s social capital – he said Rector of the University of Gdańsk, Prof. Piotr Stepnowski. The award of the title of Patron of Academic Sport of the University of Gdańsk is an expression of recognition for our cooperation with the Olivia Centre based on common values and social responsibility. I am convinced that this partnership will allow us to strengthen academic sport.”

“Academic sport teaches values that are particularly close to us at Olivia Centre: responsibility, consistency, cooperation and the pursuit of long-term goals. It is on such foundations that responsible business is also based. We believe that supporting young people, their activity, ambitions and healthy attitudes is an investment that brings value to the entire community” – said Maciej Grabski, President of Olivia Centre.

The cooperation between the Olivia Centre and the University of Gdańsk results not only from the close proximity of both institutions, but also from the convergence of values and a common vision of supporting initiatives important for the local community. The partnership is long-term and goes beyond the classic sponsorship model, focusing on building lasting relationships and real social impact.

“We are delighted to have such a strong brand as Olivia Centre on board. We are close neighbours and such cooperation will certainly be beneficial for both parties. In the past, Olivia has already supported the sports activities of AZS University of Gdańsk, but this agreement is more than just a sponsorship agreement. This is a new chapter” – sums up the President of AZS UG Piotr Walczak.

The importance of the agreement for the University results from the importance of sport in shaping civic and academic attitudes. In turn, representatives of Olivia Centre point out that sports values coincide with the values of responsible business. It is this dimension of cooperation that gives it strategic importance both for the university and for the Olivia Centre as a partner actively involved in the life of the region.

“Acquiring such a strong partner as Olivia Centre is a significant strengthening for academic sport at the University of Gdańsk. The close proximity and convergence of values make this cooperation have the potential for a long-term, mutual impact. Olivia Centre has already supported the sports activities of AZS University of Gdańsk, but the agreement signed today goes beyond the classic sponsorship model – it is the opening of a new stage of cooperation based on partnership and a common vision of development” – sums up the President of AZS UG Piotr Walczak.

Olivia Centre’s appointment as the Patron of Academic Sport at the University of Gdańsk is part of a consistently implemented strategy of supporting socially and locally important initiatives. The partnership with the University of Gdańsk strengthens the relationship between business and academia, creating a space for joint actions for health, integration and development of sport.

“We are very pleased that our idea for a responsible partnership has been approved by the rector’s authorities and representatives of the Olivia Centre. Together, we want to create a space for building positive pro-social and pro-health attitudes among the academic community, which will remain as habits for years. We hope for fruitful cooperation and believe that this is the first step towards building a solid group of patrons of academic sport at the University of Gdańsk” – added the Director of CWFiS, Tomasz Aftański.

“For years, the cooperation between the Olivia Centre and the University of Gdańsk has been based on mutual trust, closeness and the belief that together we can implement socially important initiatives. It is a natural step for us to support academic sport. As a neighbour and partner of the University, we want to co-create projects that have a real impact on the quality of life of the academic community and the region” – summed up Grzegorz Kidybiński, Member of the Management Board of Olivia Centre.

At Olivia, green is still the name of the game!

Dear Residents,

Our journey towards nature is gaining momentum. We are entering Phase III of the “Green Olivia” project! It all began (you might remember?) with a pocket garden that modestly emerged back in 2021, nestled between Olivia Star and Olivia Prime B.

The urban concept of pocket parks was born in the 1960s in New York (the famous Paley Park) as a response to the lack of greenery in Manhattan’s dense landscape. They were designed to be safe havens of peace – “green lungs” right at your fingertips. At Olivia Centre, we took this idea as a starting point to create a network of green squares and corridors that are gradually connecting our buildings into a coherent ecosystem.

In 2024, the first stage of our “green game” was launched. We divided the work into smaller phases to introduce changes consistently and responsibly, without disrupting the rhythm of this place. Phases I and II covered the space between Olivia Star and Olivia Six, where a new quality began to take shape: more greenery, softer forms, and spaces to pause and relax. On Monday, May 4th, we are moving into Phase III of our green revolution.

Even More Green Power

Phase III covers further key points of our center – the area in front of the Starbucks café, the passage in the now-famous Olivia Gate, and additional sections of the patio. We are still “playing the green game,” but we are doing so by working not only with vegetation but also with materials, textures, and light. Features will include:

  • Tall grasses that will “dance” in the wind;
  • Shade-giving trees;
  • Fruit trees (an absolute first!): apple, plum, and cherry trees;
  • Roses – for the first time at Olivia – thanks to the excellent sunlight in this zone;
  • Climbing plants, including ivy on the Gate A facade, which will softly re-shape the architecture;
  • Plinths for works of art.

We also plan to install a dynamic weather vane. It may take the form of a dancer whose movement will highlight the energy of this place.

Eco Olivia

We are using reclaimed elements from previous works, giving them a second life. The surfaces will be diverse: gravel, slate, and Old Gdańsk cobblestones—a subtle nod to the local context and the historic streets of Gdańsk.

Biophilic Design and Edible Landscapes

Our initiatives align with global trends such as Biophilic Design (designing based on the innate human need to connect with nature) and Edible Landscapes. All over the world, from Singapore to London, modern business centers are shifting from “decorative greenery” to true urban biodiversity. This isn’t just a trend—it’s a paradigm shift in thinking about how buildings should “breathe” and coexist with their surroundings.

Work is scheduled to run until the end of August.

Olivia Quest 2: look out for the signs!

Do you love puzzles, charades, riddles and mysteries?
Do you have the My Olivia app and confirmed Resident status?
Face the Game Master in Olivia Quest! Peek into the mystery chest, look out for signs, guess the words of the day,
to finally discover the MASTER CODE and win 1000 PLN!

REMEMBER TO UPDATE THE MY OLIVIA APP

Meet the mysterious master of the OLIVIA QUEST game. He is not a good, innocent man. This is someone who makes a bet with another Mockingbird that NO ONE can solve his riddles. He arrogantly thinks that he can even put MONEY on the win, because his tasks are difficult enough that no one will win this money…

The Mystery Master officially plans to reward the one who gives the MASTER PASSWORD, and in the GRAND FINAL, the smartest, most efficient, most team-oriented, fastest, and at the same time – creatively beats other Players. The Final itself is not only an opportunity to get to know the Champion – it is also a Clear Determination of who is better – the Competitors or the Champion.

The way to the Final is simple – guess the MASTER CODE and enter it in the My Olivia app in “OLIVIA QUEST”. The Master will confirm in due course whether it is correct. The Master does not reveal how many words the password has, where it came from or what it is. But he doesn’t leave Contestants helpless either. He has left as many as 6 traces – tasks whose solutions are hints!

The more tasks you do, the more hints you will get and the easier it will be to come up with the final password. Where to look for these “traces – tasks”? How to get hints to the password? All you have to do is play, knowing the rules below!

  • To know the MASTER PASSWORD, you have to guess the WORD OF THE DAY.
  • To find out the WORD OF THE DAY, simply take part in the Olivia Quest! Think, combine, look for clues, look carefully…. Each hint consists of three elements, and they are:

SCREENS in the elevators – they will never be explicit, they will never be direct, but they will help! One day – one screen hint;

THE STORY BOX IN OLIVIA STAR – each successive clue will require you to put your hand into the abyss of the Master’s chest and recognize the shape, which will also hint at something;;

RIDDLE/ REBUS – you will find it in a different Olivia building each time – but once located, it will be left there until the end of the Game! Of course, we will inform you on April 28, as well as on May 5, 7, 12, 14, and 19 – on the mystery chest and in the My Olivia app, in which building this riddle is located! Its solution also brings you closer to the WORD OF THE DAY!

  • You can check the correctness of the WORD OF THE DAY in the My Olivia app. You click on OLIVIA QUEST, type in the WORD OF THE DAY and get feedback – BRAVE!/ TRY NEXT. You can keep trying until you do!!
  • Remember that you will be supported by our Superhero Arek Starek! If you see him, for example, on the screen, it means that it is worth paying attention to THIS screen!!
  • We present hints on April 28, as well as on May 5, 7, 12, 14, and 19.

If you are already sure that you know the MASTER CODE – you can enter it in the My Olivia app in OLIVIA QUEST in the space ENTER MASTER CODE. Remember, you will only find out if you guessed*you just before the finale, which is May 21. The Grand Finale will be held on May 25, “live” at O4 Coworking. It is well known, there can be only one Winner.

In these buildings look for puzzles – hints. Remember, once placed, they stay there until the end of the game.
