LinkedinLocal Tricity in Olivia Centre. Get to know the person, not the profile

LinkedinLocal is a global, grassroots initiative that aims to bring virtual connections from LinkedIn’s professional network to the real world and build authentic human relationships. The meetings are non-commercial – their participants come to meet other people and their passions, not to sell products or services.

The story of LinkedinLocal began in Australia in 2017, and the idea quickly gained popularity around the world. The Tri-City community joined this global movement in July 2018, organizing the first meeting in the O4 Coworking spaces at Olivia Centre, which is currently one of the main partners of these meetings. Over the next two years, the initiative grew rapidly and the interest of participants continued to grow, but this development was abruptly halted in March 2020 by Covid-19.

After a pandemic break, LinkedinLocal returned for good to the Tri-City networking scene in June 2024. The core of the Linkedin Local – Tri-City organizational team is formed by a permanent, family team (the hosts of the meetings are Wojciech Wołoszyk and Kacper Wołoszyk) with the constant support of IURIDICO, which has been the main organizational partner of this series since the beginning of Linkedin Local’s operation.

The community around LinkedinLocal Tri-City is constantly growing, and tickets for subsequent editions are sold out well in advance. In addition to moderated networking, the program includes substantive lectures on a variety of topics – from health well-being, through strategic planning, to legal design, building a personal brand and asset protection.

– There is no single, dominant profile of the participant. Among our guests are representatives of various industries and organizations: law, real estate, production, logistics, marketing, financial and professional services, IT, education, psychology, culture, sports and gastronomy. It brings together SME entrepreneurs, mid-level specialists, managers, corporate employees, civil servants, freelancers and professionals – says Wojciech Wołoszyk.

The last edition of the event took place in the unique Olivia Star Top space thanks to the partnership with Olivia Centre, offering a panoramic view of the Tri-City from a height of over 140 metres.

– The meeting on the 34th floor with a view of the Tri-City metropolis – in my opinion – turned out phenomenally emphasizes Bogusław Wieczorek, the representative of the management board of Olivia Centre – Olivia is a business hub that connects experts from various industries. This is exactly what the LinkedinLocal initiative does, so it’s the most natural collaboration you can imagine. Importantly, the meetings, despite the fact that they take place in an informal atmosphere, are always characterized by a high substantive level, which certainly contributes to such a large attendance during each of the meetings and influences such a high interest in tickets for subsequent events organized by Wojciech Wołoszyk and his team. And if you add a substantive program to it, there is nothing else to do but wait for the next edition.

LinkedinLocal is not only the Tri-City – meetings are also organized in many other Polish cities, including Poznań, Krakow, Warsaw, Toruń, Bydgoszcz, Częstochowa, Gliwice, Wrocław, Katowice, Łódź, Rzeszów, Lublin, Szczecin and Zielona Góra. The organizers cooperate with each other, exchanging experiences and good practices, thus building a nationwide community. Linkedin Corporation does not organize or fund the LinkedinLocal initiative, which is carried out under license.

The next LinkedinLocal Tri-City meeting will take place on April 16, 2025.

Enjoy Fat Thursday in Olivia! Competitions with sweets are waiting!

Fat Thursday is one of the sweetest holidays in the Polish calendar – a day when you can reach for your favorite pastries without remorse. Where did this tradition come from? Why do we celebrate on Thursday? And do you really have to eat something sweet on this day to ensure prosperity?

The origins of the custom date back to ancient Rome, where feasts in honor of the arrival of spring were full of fatty foods and bread pastries, which over time turned into sweet treats. In Poland, the holiday appeared in the Middle Ages and initially was mainly associated with eating meat dishes. It was not until the 16th-17th centuries that sweet, stuffed specialties began to reign on the tables, which we know today.

Currently, it is a holiday for all lovers of doughnuts, with marmalade and powdered sugar, with rose jam, chocolate, pudding, with and without icing. According to tradition, eating a doughnut, cheese doughnut or faworki on Fat Thursday guarantees prosperity for the whole year!

Celebrating on Thursday results from the liturgical division of the week – in Anglo-Saxon countries and some regions of Europe, the equivalent is “Fat Tuesday” (Mardi Gras). Whatever the name, the idea remains the same: enjoy the sweet tooth before it’s time to fast!

Consequently, we cordially invite you to participate in the sweetest event of the year in Olivia, i.e. Fat Thursday in Olivia Prime A!
See you on February 27 from 11:30 to 13:30,
we take part in very sweet competitions and win super prizes!

Be ready for:

Express donut eating (without licking your lips!)

Fighting a hanging donut (be careful not to let it fall!)

The Great Search for Mini-Donuts (Who Will Find the Most?)

Donut puns (creativity welcome!)

Fat Thursday quiz (test your knowledge!)

Olivia Centre is a partner of the Gdańsk Community Foundation and the Oliwa Town Hall of Culture

Recently, we proudly informed about our partnership with LinkedIn Local Tricity, and today, with equally great joy and enthusiasm, we can say about another, extremely important partnership between Olivia and the Gdańsk Community Foundation.

– Our cooperation has been going on for many years, for example at the Viva Oliwa district festival or the Oliwa Neighbourhood Budget – says Bogusław Wieczorek, attorney-at-law at Olivia’s Management Board for PR. – But the agreement signed today takes us to a new level and officially Olivia Centre becomes a Partner of the Gdańsk Community Foundation, which runs the Oliwa Town Hall of Culture.

The agreement opens up even more opportunities for Olivia Residents to commune with culture and art. There are plans for joint new events and easier access for the centre’s tenants to the offer of the Oliwa Town Hall of Culture.

– We want to promote and support local initiatives even more actively, which is why some of the events of the Town Hall will soon be hosted in Olivia Centre – says Bogusław Wieczorek. We also hope that the residents of Oliwa and the regulars of the Oliwa Town Hall of Culture, who are always welcome in our spaces, will be even more frequent guests of Olivia Centre, which is not only a place of work, but also a place of meetings, inspiration and relaxation, e.g. in Olivia Garden or on the top floors of Olivia Star.

We are looking forward to new joint projects and invite you to follow the upcoming events.

The first LinkedIn Tri-City meeting is behind us! What a power it was!

I don’t think we had time to boast that this year Olivia Centre is the main partner of LinkedinLocal Tricity. And here we are after the first meeting in the new partnership formula. On the 34th floor of Olivia Star, with a view of the entire Tri-City metropolis, a crowd gathered and in our opinion it was phenomenal.

From the very beginning, Olivia has been a business hub that is supposed to connect experts from various industries. LinkedIn Local plays exactly the same role. It’s the most natural collaboration you can imagine. And if you add a substantive program to it, there is nothing else to do but wait for the next edition.

Fantastic lectures have been given by Izabela Turczyńska-Buszan, a legal advisor who has been translating legal language into human language for entrepreneurs for 15 years, a Tedx speaker, a lecturer, and Agnieszka Wnuk, who deals with B2B marketing and cooperates with entrepreneurs on a daily basis in the field of consulting planning marketing and sales activities.

The networking sessions were led by Karolina Rymarczyk from O4 Coworking.

The hosts of the event were Wojciech Wołoszyk (organizer of Linkedin Local meetings in the Tri-City, Linkedin enthusiast and expert, lawyer and court expert) and Kacper Wołoszyk (co-organizer of the LinkedIn Local Tri-City event series since 2024). Congratulations!

First opinions:

“A phenomenal event, the bar jumped again, memories and impressions unforgettable. I will be happy to read the report. Thank you for an interesting conversation, great speeches and I am impatiently counting down the time until the next meeting.”
(Mrs. Julia).

“It was a great event done at the highest level!”
(Mrs. Ilona).

“Last night? Absolutely unique! I spent it, like many of you, on LinkedinLocal Tricity – an event that always combines content with a fantastic atmosphere. Meetings with you are always great energy, inspiring conversations and a specific dose of knowledge. It’s wonderful to see how our Tri-City community is growing stronger!”
(Ms. Aleksandra)

LinkedIn Local is a grassroots initiative that aims to bring virtual connections from the LinkedIn platform to the real world. During the events, you will listen to many interesting lectures, but above all, it will be a time to meet new people and build relationships.

There are already rumors that the next meeting will take place in April, so… See you!
