We live and work by the sea – so how could we not take advantage of this unique opportunity? In 2018, we launched Olivia Yacht Club, bringing together recreational sailing enthusiasts and seasoned sea dogs alike. And we’ve been sailing together ever since. We officially kicked off the 2025 sailing season as early as spring, and we’ve already held the Olivia Yacht Club Cup Regatta! A quick reminder: here at Olivia, sailing season is practically year-round – including June! So join us for after-work cruises on Wednesdays or full-day Sunday sailing adventures. Pick your date and catch the wind in your sails!
Sailing is not just a sport or a passion – it’s also a way to develop strategic thinking, teamwork, and mental resilience. And of course, it’s a fantastic way to spend time outdoors and – in our case – a wonderful opportunity to explore the beauty of the Gulf of Gdańsk together.
A tradition of excellence
Olivia Yacht Club was created together with Mateusz Kusznierewicz – one of Poland’s most outstanding sailors, Olympic champion in the Finn class (Atlanta 1996), and bronze medallist at the Athens Games (2004). A multiple world and European champion, he has shared his knowledge and experience with OYC members, inspiring them, teaching, and motivating continuous growth in sailing skills.
Although he no longer conducts regular training sessions, he still sails with Olivia whenever his schedule allows.

Year-round cruises on the Gulf of Gdańsk
Olivia Yacht Club organizes cruises all year round – spring, summer, and even winter expeditions! Sailings depart from both Gdańsk and Sopot, and one of their proud ambassadors is Maciej Kotarski, Director at Olivia Centre. He actively promotes winter sailing as a great way to build resilience and mental strength. He also enjoys sailing alongside crews from Nordea, Capgemini, Grid Dynamics, and Just Join IT.
Partnership with Premium Yachting
Thanks to our partnership with Premium Yachting, our members have access to modern yachts and professionally organized cruises. Together, we’re cultivating a sailing culture and inspiring people to push boundaries – both in sport and in professional life.
Join us in sailing and discovering new horizons!
Do you know the world’s most prestigious sailing races?
Sailing is not only about leisure – it’s also about top-level competition. Some of the most renowned regattas include:
America’s Cup – the oldest and most prestigious sailing competition, held since 1851.
Volvo Ocean Race (now known as The Ocean Race) – an extreme, months-long round-the-world race.
Vendée Globe – a solo, non-stop round-the-world race with no assistance.
Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race – a challenging race from Sydney to Hobart, known for its tough conditions.
Twelve crews and a lot of sports emotions – this is how we can briefly sum up the Olivia Yacht Club Cup Regatta, which took place on Thursday, 8 May on the waters of the Gulf of Gdańsk. This event proved that spontaneous initiatives can positively surprise with quality and energy – this is exactly what happened this time.
The wind that blew on time
Although the forecasts predicted almost windless conditions, nature decided to cooperate. The wind blew exactly when it was most needed, and the crews could demonstrate both sailing skills and tactical cleverness. As for the cheerfulness, it was good from the beginning to the end – there was a great atmosphere on the water and on the shore. There was laughter and a moment to relax, but also full concentration and healthy competition
From the sea to the office and back – business meets sailing
The regatta also had a deeper purpose: to connect the world of sailing with the everyday life of companies operating in Olivia Centre. And it worked out brilliantly. It could not be otherwise, because – as we know – sailing and business have surprisingly much in common. Cooperation, instant decision-making, trust and teamwork are all about here and here. There is a reason why so many participants of the event left the deck with the feeling that it was not only an adventure, but also a valuable lesson in acting under pressure.
Who won the cup?
The winning crew of OMIDA Group showed class and sailing determination, winning first place with a score of 5 points. The Olivia Centre team was right behind them, and the podium was closed by the Adar crew. Here are the full results of the regatta:

The days are longer, the sun shines stronger, and you can feel the energy of a new beginning in the air. This is the perfect time to dust off your bike or take your motorcycle out of the winter garage and go to work on your beloved two-wheeler. This article was created for you, cyclists and motorcyclists. Read it, because it’s all useful information. This time we will start with motorcyclists, because there are more and more of you in Olivia, and we have not paid you enough attention so far (we think so).
Motorcycles
Remember that during working hours you will park your motorcycle for FREE in designated spaces in the UNDERGROUND GARAGE HALLS.
It’s all about benefits!
Paint and plastic
protectionUV radiation can fade the paint and plastic parts over time, making the motorcycle look older than it is. The paint loses its depth, tarnishes, and plastics can crack.
Avoiding overheating of the fuel
tankWhen the motorcycle is in the sun for a long time, the fuel in the tank can heat up, which increases evaporation and can lead to an increase in pressure – in extreme cases even to a leak in the system (especially in older models).
Comfort
A heated saddle, grips and tank can be really unpleasant to the touch – especially in summer. In the shade, these elements remain cooler.
Electronics and battery
protectionHigh temperatures can accelerate battery wear and negatively affect the operation of electronics, sensors or LCD displays.
Tyre
protectionRubber does not like prolonged exposure to the sun – UV rays and high temperature can accelerate the aging process of tires, which affects their grip and safety.
Please do not park your vehicle in ABOVE-GROUND PARKING SPACES FOR CARS.
How to park in a garage hall?
Prepare your office entry card.
Drive to the entrance to the underground parking lot of the building where you work.
Place the card against theBICYCLE READER, wait until the entrance gate to the garage hall opens.
Carefully avoid the barrier (it won’t rise)
Park in the designated space marked with this sign:
Bikes
At Olivia Centre you have at your disposal:
several hundred bicycle racks – inside garage halls and outside buildings,
two bicycle repair points,
lockers for cyclists in garage halls,
shower cubicles (if you need a refreshment after your trip).
Here you can park your bike in above-ground car parks:
Scooters
Have you come to work on a scooter? In Olivia Centre you will find:
special stands for scooters,
scooter lockers with charging system for electric models.
Remember that you can also use publicly available scooters and electric scooters as well as bicycles as part of the Mevo Metropolitan Bike System.
Remember that now you can add every kilometer traveled by bike or scooter to the pool of Active Charity campaigns!
Bike lockers at My Olivia
To make life and work better for those who come to work on a bike, it is possible to rent bicycle lockers in the My Olivia application. It takes a few moments. And you can rent such a cabinet with access to the shower even for the whole year. It’s very easy! How to do it?

How can you get involved?
Just walk, run, ride your bike, scooter, rollerblades… Your activity Monitor via any app of your choice, e.g. Strava.Inform the Energa Group about this every month, and each kilometre you travel will be added to the common kilometre pool. You have plenty of time, because the campaign lasts until December 31.
We have 250,000 km to go. If we manage to exceed the assumed mileage limit, the Energa Foundation will donate funds to children in need, seniors and animal shelters.
Every active charity who goes out, leaves, runs 100 km and donates them to the common pool will be able to recommend the Beneficiary to the Organizers. If you have any questions, write to: rowery@energa.pl
This year we are initiating a new series entitled “Olivia on the trail”. Maybe we will be able to reveal to you places you don’t know yet? In any case, we will show them, suggest what is worth seeing and, hopefully, encourage you to get to know them.
First of all, we will use the suggestions of hiking routes that you will find in our album “Oliwa off the trail” (did you know that we developed and published such an album together with Tomasz Strug, a councillor of the Oliwa district?). This is a unique publication, Oliwa seen through the eyes of its lover and long-time resident, Tomasz. An amazing, extremely interesting guide to unknown places and stories not fully told was created. The album can be found in the lobbies of all our buildings, so we invite you to take a look at its pages.
Tomek Strug’s texts are illustrated with beautiful photos. Here are their authors: Iwo Ledwożyw, Dawid Linkowski, Aleksandra Majewska, Tomek Strug, Sebastian Wilczewski and Krzysztof Bednarski, Daria Boba, Zbigniew Czajka, Izabela Dembkowska, Krzysztof Hewelt, Iwona Karpińska, Agnieszka Suchodolska-Wamka and Beata Zarach from the Oliwia Photography Club.
As part of good neighbourly cooperation, the project of the map of Oliwa was made available to us by the City Initiative Association. Its author is Adam Świerżewski.
And as an encouragement, a few words from the introduction (by way of introduction):)
“Oliwa is a unique district, a kind of time machine. From ultra-modern or almost futuristic places, in a few moments we can move to the past and taste the best that past generations have left behind. Of course, the first associations with Oliwa are the most important icons for centuries: the “Pomeranian Wawel”, i.e. the Oliwa Cathedral, the Abbots’ Palace and the legendary Oliwa Park. Further connotations are the ubiquitous greenery and magnificent buildings, created over the last three centuries. Unlike the destroyed Main and Old Town in Gdańsk, Oliwa gives a sense of authenticity. It is also determined by lesser-known buildings, quiet streets and a huge number of details and signs connecting us with the past. I invite you to discover the “unusual” Oliwa, located off the tourist trail.”
In the first episode of our series “Olivia on the trail” we invite you to visit the Water Forge in the Valley of Gravity (route in the album: “Forest and Water”)
The Water Forge is a still functioning souvenir of the golden times of industrialization of Oliwa based on the waters of the Oliwa Stream. The forge, called the “hammer house” because of the two large hammers working in it, was mentioned for the first time in written sources in 1597. It was built in a deep depression, below the dam damming the waters of the merging Oliwa and Prochowy streams. It worked continuously until 1948.
The wooden building consists of two parts. They were erected on both sides of the Oliwa Stream and the roofed pier. Inside there are three antique water wheels. Two with a diameter of 4 meters drive quarter-ton hammers, the third wheel with a diameter of 3.1 meters drives eccentric shears – a guillotine. The hammers can reach speeds of up to 250 strokes per minute. In the mid-nineteenth century, the forge processed over 186 tons of iron per year. One blacksmith was able to forge about 1000 studs (nails of the time) during the day.
The forge has been a branch of the Museum of Gdańsk for several years. Occasional steel forging demonstrations are organized there. However, it has happened in the last two decades that larger orders were carried out here, thanks to which the hammer mill worked as it did centuries ago. The fence of the nearby Schwabe Manor, known as the “Dwór Oliwski” hotel, was built in this forge.
Since the Middle Ages, as many as 24 plants commonly known as mills have operated on the Oliwa Stream. These were: forges, grain mills, sawmills, powder magazines, fulling mills where cloth was made, breweries or even mills for grinding bones or wood bark.
