Energa stays at Olivia Business Centre

Energa Group has extended its 14,800 sq m office lease in Gdańsk’s Olivia Business Centre. The tenant was represented in the transaction by global real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield.

Energa Group is one of the four largest power groups in Poland. Its core business operations include distribution, generation and sales of electricity and heat. Energa Group is also among three leading electricity suppliers in Poland. It supplies electricity to more than 2.9 million retail and business clients, covering approximately 24% of the country’s area. Energa Group was established as a result of consolidation of Koncern Energetyczny ENERGA SA and Zespół Elektrowni Ostrołęka SA. Energa-Operator has branch offices in such cities as Elbląg, Gdańsk, Kalisz and Toruń.

Olivia Business Centre is one of Poland’s most interesting mixed-use office complexes. Located at the very heart of Tricity and in immediate vicinity of a university campus, it has been expanding rapidly since 2010. The seventh building of the scheme Olivia Seven is currently under construction alongside the ultramodern Olivia Star building towering over the Gdańsk metropolitan area. Star and Seven will add nearly 150,000 sq m to the Olivia Business Centre, making it Poland’s largest business hub. Situated within the complex are over 110 companies, including global corporations such as Amazon, Bayer, PwC, Fujifilm, Nordea, thyssenkrupp, SMEs and start-ups. Olivia Business Centre tenants have access to many amenities, including 4 conference centres, 4 banks, 3 restaurants, 2 cafés, a medical centre and a pharmacy, a kindergarten and nursery in addition to 2,000 parking spaces, 4 changing rooms for cyclists and electrical car charging points. The Star building will also house two new conference centres with a capacity for up to 1,000 people, new restaurants, cafés and a unique winter garden. Olivia actively supports the local community and organizes multiple business, educational, cultural and sports events.

Maciej Kotarski, Leasing Director at Olivia Business Centre, said: “Energa Group has resided at Olivia since 2012 and we have ever since endeavoured to ensure the best possible conditions for its presence and growth in our centre. Besides, the key objective of Olivia, since its inception, has been to create an excellent and comfortable working environment with a focus on occupants’ well-being. That’s why we are building in the middle of our patio an almost 1,000 sq m winter garden where tenants, including all Energa employees, could relax and have contact with nature all the year round. I’m pleased that such a renowned corporation had decided to continue in Olivia. This is a confirmation of not only the high quality of our buildings and our occupier services, but also our correct strategy of providing day-to-day business support by attracting services, institutions and companies providing support in business development from IT, financial or HR sectors to the Olivia complex.”

Krzysztof Misiak, Partner, and Adam Schroeder, Senior Negotiator, Office Agency, Cushman & Wakefield, said: “All the energy we put into negotiating office lease terms for Energa Group in Olivia Business Centre has resulted in our client’s satisfaction and positive opinions. This is another example of successful cooperation with a state-owned company that has given us a lot of satisfaction and emboldens us to engage in other projects in the future.”
