Learn professional vocabulary, strengthen your communication skills and take care of your and your colleagues’ safety in the Offshore industry.

 

After completing our course, you will receive a certificate.

 

Polish ports have been designated as installation ports for offshore wind energy, and smaller ports located on the coast will serve as service ports, necessary to operate offshore installations. It is assumed that about 70,000 MW will be built directly and indirectly in connection with the construction and operation of offshore wind farms. jobs requiring different qualifications, and the common feature of jobs directly related to the construction, installation and service of offshore wind turbines is the specific English language, the so-called “Construction of Wind Turbines”. Offshore English.

 

The course is aimed at:

  • People planning to start a job and career in the offshore industry.
  • Pupils and students of faculties related to offshore wind energy.
  • Persons who speak English at least at A2-B1 level.

 

Form: hybrid – stationary + online classes

30 hours of classes (5 weeks)

 

Date: first class: February 7, 2023

 

Organizational information:

  • Before the start of the language course, a placement test will be carried out to determine the level of English proficiency.
  • A detailed schedule of classes will be refined based on the needs of the participants.
  • Stationary modules will take place at the headquarters of the Pomerania Development Agency on Saturday (3 hours).
  • Online modules will be conducted via the ClickMeeting training platform on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the afternoon (1.5 hours each).

  • PLN 1650.00 net/ PLN 2029.50 gross standard price
  • PLN 1500.00 net / PLN 1845.00 grosspromotional price if registered by January 31

  • Offshore worker: Asking for and giving personal and professional information;
  • The Job: describing your position, practicing ordinal numbers, telling the time, describing daily routines.
  • Identifying safety equipment: distinguishing safety commands, describing the location of safety equipment.
  • Emergency! Identifying emergency situations; recognizing emergency procedures; producing accurate commands.
  • Personal equipment & Personal injuries: Describing personal equipment and personal injuries resulting from accidents; describing causes and means of prevention.
  • Weather conditions, wind force, wind direction, sea area forecast.
  • Structure of the offshore wind farm (installation capacity, grid connection) and how a wind turbine works.
  • Characteristics of offshore wind power.
  • Operations and maintenance.

 

Lector:

Julita Stańczewska – a graduate of English Philology at the University of Gdańsk, a specialist translator of economics and law in business. For 10 years, she has been helping people active in business to improve their language competences both in Poland and abroad. She has trained employees of companies such as: ING Bank Śląski, VECTOR, Canpol, Philips Medical Systems, Vibracoustic. Since 2016, he has been running his own language center, where he and his team train adults in Business English, Medical English, Legal English and Technical English.
