Olivia Cooltura invites to a meet-the-author session with Marlena Kossakowska, PhD, a psychologist from SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities: “How to improve the quality of life and find happiness?”
The need for personal development is a natural need of people around the world. There are many programmes and projects, which aim at improving the quality of life. We are more and more aware of the fact that solely material things aren’t enough to ensure our well-being. We know that pressure and stress, which accompany us every day, can effectively take away our joy and inner peace. After all, we all want to experience positive emotions, have good relations with other people and feel the sense of existence. We want to do what we love. We just want to live good lives and fully experience happiness. Marlena Kossakowska, PhD, a health psychologist from the branch faculty of SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Sopot, in her latest book entitled “Projekt: Dobre Życie” tries to convince us that it is possible.
We would like to invite you to a meet-the-author session, during which Marlena Kossakowska, PhD, will bring us closer to the main concepts from the book. It is also a great opportunity to get familiar with a 6-week programme of exercises and tasks, which lead to the improvement of our well-being… and start to fulfil them in everyday life!
“Projekt Dobre Życie” was created on the basis of the concept of well-being by Martin Seligman. Its aim is to take care of all component elements of well-being highlighted by this researcher. We encourage you to get engaged in this project, give answers to the questions and do another exercises and tasks. All exercises were tried and tested by scientists. That is why, they may be effective for each of us. We do many similar exercises every day, but we usually don’t realise that they create our happiness. Realising this fact is very precious because it gives us the feeling that we can take care of our happiness by ourselves.
“Projekt Dobre Życie” suggests us to take up a 6-week everyday work on increasing happiness according to hedonistic and eudaimonistic approach. It consists in doing indicated tasks and exercises regularly. The project is adapted to Polish reality, but it is modelled on studies and experiences of researchers from different countries (Lyubomirsky and Seligman). It was written in the convention of cognitive-behavioural therapy.
You are warmly invited to the meeting. The number of places is limited.
